I thought that it would be fun and somewhat interesting to write a little post about Halloween. Normally, it has to be said, I don't really like it as a 'holiday' but this year I have decided to step outside the box of normality and embrace all it has to offer.
I really love and enjoy the colours of Autumn especially the vibrant orange of the pumpkins. Really, I just love pumpkins, I find that they are very striking and add so much to any room they are in. With this in mind I decided to make my very own - out of felt. That way I could bring them out every year.
What would Halloween be without some spiders dotted around the house to scare everyone!!
To achieve the desired effect I used some scraps of black felt that I had lying around the house and I stuffed and sewed them into balls of various sizes - depending on the size of spider I wanted to make. To finish each one off I attached googly eyes and black pipe cleaners for legs.
I have a feeling they work as my daughter was suitably freaked out!
My final craft attempt for Halloween was to make a witch - every Halloween display needs a witch, don't you think? Here she is, broomstick and all - what do you think?
There we have it the small DIY crafts that I have decided to add to the house in order to embrace Halloween.
Now I hope you all have a great Halloween and don't forget to lock all the doors!!
Also, keep a look out for my top five scary movies post which will becoming soon.
