Weekly Catch Up 1

Hi everyone!

I thought I would start a weekly series to share what I have been up to throughout the previous weeks.

To begin with I made some apple sauce. I prefer to make my own for many reasons but one of the main would be that, my husband only likes it without lumps (I know you can buy it in jars). I am always more satisfied when I know that it is fresh and I know what's in it.

Homemade apple sauce

Apple Sauce Method

I particularly like to use up eating apples that maybe are just that little bit too soft to eat whole.
To begin with I peel, core and chop the apples, put them in a non stick pot along with granulated sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Put a lid on the pot and cook on lowish heat until soft.
Let them cool and sieve.
You now have lovely smooth apple sauce, which is great for pork.

Fairy Buns

I also made my Butterfly buns with homemade plum jam.
These buns are made with a lovely light sponge and filled with the jam and then topped off with butter icing. Finally sprinkled with icing sugar.

These are a family favourite which go pretty quickly.

Future Plans

As I write this, my future plans are based around making oven mitts. I have drawn out templates so it could be said that the making of these are under way. When they begin to take shape I will pop the details in a later post.

You?

What have you been up to this week? Let me know.

Well there we have it, a short catch up for this week, see you next week.

Enjoy!
