Christmas Movies #2 - The Lesser Known Edition

Santa Hat

I thought as I had put my top five favourite Movies at Christmas, I would put my top ten lesser known ones. There are so many but here are mine.

1. Turbulence : Definitely not a conventional movie for the festive period but I love it as it takes place on a plane. With the brilliant Ray Liotta and Lauren Holly, this  fast paced movie has it all. Even a clip of 'It's a Wonderful Life' on the aeroplane's big screen. Criminals are being transported to a new destination and of course break free mid flight. All passengers are either dead or locked below, so Liotta's character can torment the cabin crew member still alive. A cat and mouse chase ensues to a very tense but predictable end. A really good film.

2. Fallen Angel: This has Gary Sinise returning home after his Father's death in order to clear and deal with his estate. Cue a romantic lead Joley Richardson. Of course he finds love and new appreciation for his home town and ends up staying. Brilliant.

3. A Christmas Romance: Lovely little movie with the fabulous Olivia Newton John. She plays a widowed Mom losing her home. Of course the man coming to tell her ends up falling in love with her after many mishaps. A sweet movie with a happy ending.

4. The Christmas Cottage: True story about artist Thomas Kinkade. After returning home, he finds his family home is going to be sold for financial reasons. He then uses his artistic ability to raise money and help his Mother save their home. He became world famous but sadly died aged 54 in 2012.

5. All I want for Christmas: A busy, tired Mom (Lea Thompson) is so harassed that when she takes her kids to see Santa she accidentally gets a wish. She gets the life of her very rich, pretty old school friend. Of course it's not all parties and clothes and she soon realises that all that really matters is her family. She then has to prove it to get her old life back. A funny, sad, and emotional little movie.

What movies do you love watching at Christmas?

Well there you have it, five lesser known movies that I love and watch.

Hope you all have a great Christmas.
